Accessibility Compliance
This information has been prepared in accordance with Legislative Decree no. 82/2022 which implements Directive (EU) 2019/882 (European Accessibility Act). The Emme Website complies with the principles of being perceivable, operable, understandable and robust as well as meeting the accessibility requirements set forth in the aforementioned legislation. The specific technical measures adopted use the EN 301 549 standard as their reference and are based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 with conformance levels A and AA.
Website accessibility
In order to promote sensitive use of the Emme Website, in compliance with the regulations and standards indicated in the previous “Accessibility Compliance” paragraph, the following measures have been adopted:
- • Ability to navigate the entire website using just the keyboard
- • Focus indicators always visible while navigating
- • All text elements are readable by screen readers.
- • Ability for the user, for the most part, to individually adjust the text size
- • Colour contrasts are, for the most part, adequate
- • Product images, for the most part, accompanied by meaningful text descriptions
- • Content, for the most part, free of rapid image sequences that can cause visual impairments
- • Use, for the most part, of descriptive titles for the pages
- • Clear and consistent navigation structures
- • Error messages and suggestions are mostly clear to facilitate the correction of inputs
- • Using semantic HTML structures and appropriate ARIA roles
Furthermore, dedicated features are constantly updated to ensure an ever-improving experience for all users.
Content not accessible
The Emme Website is partially conformant with harmonised standards UNI CEI EN 301549. In particular, in relation to the standards listed in Appendix A of the UNI CEI EN 301549 standard, the contents listed below are not yet accessible:
- • Non-text content: Informational images, such as the company logo, are not available to screen reader users. Product images are named incorrectly. Decorative images are unnecessarily focused on.
- • Information and correlations: There are cases where headers, lists, or tables are omitted or incorrectly marked. Error messages or other important information are not associated with their respective fields.
- • Use of Colour: The same colour is used to indicate fields with errors.
- • Flow recalculation: Some content is only partially available when pages are zoomed in.
- • Text content contrast: There are cases where interface text elements in green, light grey, white, or brown do not meet the minimum required contrast ratio.
- • Non-text content contrast: There are cases where interface non-text elements in green, light grey or white do not meet the minimum required contrast ratio.
- • Text scaling: Some content is not available when the page is scaled to 200%.
- • Using the keyboard: Some interactive controls cannot be reached using the keyboard alone. Also, some ‘tooltips’ cannot be closed with the keyboard when they are displayed.
- • Pausing moving content: There are some cases where there are no controls to pause moving content.
- • Focus order: There are cases where focus is not handled correctly in pop-ups (for example, modal windows do not receive initial focus, or focus is handled incorrectly after the modal is closed). There are also situations where the focus moves illogically, without creating a meaningful sequence for users using the keyboard or screen reader.
- • Purpose of links: There are multiple links with the same label, making it difficult to understand which section each one belongs to.
- • Headings and labels: There are multiple controls with identical labels, making it confusing to understand which section each control belongs to.
- • Focus visibility: Several interactive controls (e.g. links, buttons) do not have a visible focus indicator.
- • Label name: In some cases, the programmatic name of some controls is completely different from the visible label.
- • On input: There are cases where some functions are dynamically activated after a control is activated, without this being expected.
- • Identifying errors: In some cases, errors in forms do not correctly describe the field containing the error.
- • Instructions and labels: Some form fields lack clear labels or instructions.
- • Name, role, and status of interactive elements: Interactive elements do not always correctly communicate their name, role or status to assistive technologies, or are announced incorrectly.
- • Status messages: There are cases where important information is not communicated by screen readers, such as error and status messages.
- • User settings: Some website content is not adapted to the settings made available to users.
Dedimax s.r.l. has launched a structured continuous improvement programme aimed at progressively addressing identified critical issues, with particular attention to new content and the most frequently visited sections of the website.
The programme includes scheduled accessibility reviews, in addition to the internal training programme already underway aimed at Designers, Developers, and all departments involved in the management and development of the Website, with the aim of promoting a fully accessible approach.
